Our annual Careers in Sport Symposium is slowly — yet surely — approaching (Saturday, October 12th). Leading up to the big show, we will highlight a few of our alumni/panelists so you can learn more about their respective, wide-ranging experiences. Today, get to know Scott Bowman.

Where you’re from:

Adams Center, NY

Major/minor(s) at IC:

Major: Sport Management

Best IC memories:
Cortaca Jug — it truly is a great event for both schools. It gives the big school feeling at two small schools one weekend each year.

Current professional position/title:

Sales Representative (Riddell Sports)

How you got there:
Networking with Riddell employees while at my previous position. They came to me with the job opportunity.

Most valuable skill/trait:

Determination. Nothing will be handed to you, you have to work hard at being successful.

Best piece of personal advice to fellow IC students:

Network, network, network. Whether it’s volunteering or interning, try and take advantage of any opportunity that presents itself. You never know who you will meet and who they will know.
