Sport Media major Chris Lotsbom is in London covering the Summer Olympic Games for NBC and other media outlets. Previous entries: Introduction // Post #1 // Post #2

Due to time constraints, only a short post today. I figured I would shake things up a bit and give you three fun highlights from the day.

One. I have started my Olympic pin collection! As is Olympic tradition, many fans, athletes, media, and volunteers trade pins in the Olympic Park. Currently I have three pins: a neat London 2012 numeral logo in the form of a Union flag, an NBC London Olympics logo and a limited edition International Broadcasting Centre pin only given to those working in the IBC.

Two. Meeting new people and seeing familiar friends! I began my work as a logger for NBC today, joining three other interns who will be working in track and field. Adam (University of Tampa), Liz (Syracuse University), and Erin (Ithaca College!) are all awesome. I also got to see and eat dinner with David and Jane Monti, my editors at Race Results Weekly. It was great seeing both for the first time at the Games.

Three. Walking to the Olympic Stadium. Though I walked through Olympic Park yesterday, it was just as fun and cool today. I still can’t get over the amazing venues; the Olympic Stadium baffles me with its beauty. The people, with flags from all across the world draped over their shoulders, are all in a joyous mood.

More fun stuff to come when time allows. Til then, all the best. Cheers!
