Sport Media major Matt Tracy is interning this summer for RaysDigest.com, where his main responsibility is covering the beat for the Princeton Rays (Rookie affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays). Below is a sampling of the rising senior’s work so far this summer.
After enduring a long off-season and scorching hot temperatures at extended spring training in Port Charlotte, the Princeton Rays are excited to finally start their 2012 Appalachian League season.
The team arrived in Princeton, West Virginia earlier this week and participated in practices and media day before the season-opening series against the Kingsport Mets. More than anything, the players were ready to start playing against other teams.

Dedicated Hernandez Acclimating to US Game Premium Story
After a now-legendary season in the Venezuelan Summer League in 2011, catcher Oscar Hernandez is stateside and playing for the rookie level Princeton Rays. The 18-year-old, who burst onto the prospect radar due to his bat, has been working diligently on a forgotten part of his game — his defense behind the plate — while also getting acclimated to US culture and a higher level of competition.
